Bruns Serbian Spruce

Picea omorika ‘Bruns’

A slow to moderate grower at 6-10″ per year.  The cones are a dark purple.  Was selected by the American Conifer Society as the 2007 conifer of the year.  Grows very narrow, 15 feet in the first 10 years; ultimately 30 feet with age.  Perfect specimen for small sites, Asian theme gardens; or a very unique hedge.  Intolerant of urban pollution.  Avoid street side plantings.
