Hornbeam American
This hornbeam is a native forest understory tree. The trunk and branches have ridges that look like muscles. It would be a wonderul addition to a natural landscape. Songbirds are attracted to its dense crown and tasty seeds. It will tolerate wet sites. Likes deep fertile, moist soils. Will not tolerate compacted soils. It is basically disease and insect free.
